I don’t play golf, nor do I “long” to play golf like a lot of folks out there. I’m more of a team sports kind of girl. But I can say without a doubt that if I did play golf, I would definitely have to swing a few clubs at Piper’s Heath Golf Club in Milton. Absolutely beautiful. Saniye and Carlos did an excellent job of choosing a location for their wedding. The grounds are gorgeous, the hall with beautiful window light is gorgeous. Just a really great place if you are looking for a venue in the Milton area.
Enough about Piper’s Heath though. This day was about Saniye & Carlos and their wedding day. When I left my home in the morning, it seemed warm, but really, what was I thinking?!? This is Toronto 2013 and the weather is crazy in these parts. It was pretty cold, but to be honest, looking at Carlos, Saniye, their maid of honour and the best man, you would never have known how cold it was. They were honestly and truly such troopers, and never complained once or even mentioned the cold!! I love love love easy going couples and easy going bridal parties and easy going wedding guests! Makes my life…ya, that’s right…EASY!! Makes taking beautiful photographs easy too.
I can’t tell you how much Carlos & Saniye surprised me on this day. When you meet Carlos & Saniye at first, they come across as shy and quiet and intense. But no one was more surprised then me to learn it’s all just a faade! They are wild and crazy and I loved every minute of their wedding. They really both are wonderful people and turns out, they both have a great sense of humour! They are also blessed with wonderful families and friends. Honestly and truly, it was such an awesome day!
And now without further ado: The Bride…
This next photo just might be one of my personal faves of the day…Just love it.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!
The Groom…he’s the handsome guy camera right (James, you’re not to shabby looking yourself!)
The added gentlemen here is Saniye’s father, Aykut who rocked it out in these photos!
Carlos & Saniye elected to have a First-Look due to the timing of the ceremony. If you’re on the fence regarding a first look, don’t be, I really do my best to make it magical and memorable for you!
After the first look, it was on to the ceremony. The ceremony took place underneath a tent next to the Piper’s Heath pub. Carlos and Saniye adopted a new tradition of sealing letters into a wine box. They both wrote letters to each other and locked them away in a wine box without the other getting a chance to read them. On their 20th(maybe 25th?) anniversary, they can open them and read them. They also had to turn over the key to the box to someone that they trust, they chose to turn it over to their beautiful maid of honour Jessica.
We had a chance to photograph the beautiful details of the wedding before the guests got seated for the big entrance.
The reception got under way and everyone was in the mood to part-eh! (Yes, I’m Canadian and end my words in “eh”)
This sequence in particular was just so hilarious. It really gave me insight into Saniye’s personality and awesome sense of humour! The MCs of the evening were calling out people to come and kiss in order to get the bride and groom to kiss. So they called on Carlos and Saniye’s friend to come on up to the dance floor and kiss her significant other. WELL, let me tell you, the friend had hurt her leg somehow and had crutches, so she made a big deal about not being able to walk to the front and how she wouldn’t be able to lay one on her significant other. (all in good fun of course). Well after they finally kissed it was now Carlos & Saniye’s turn to kiss. Doesn’t Saniye saunter on over to where her “crutched” friend is sitting, grab her crutches, and imitate her all the way to the dance floor where Carlos is waiting for his kiss! It was hilarious!! She had everyone in tears from laughter!!
The party-goers danced and hung out at the bar enjoying good company, good music and good conversation…
And for the guests at Carlos and Saniye’s wedding, the winner of my “get wild & wacky” contest is…*drumroll please…
NOT THESE PEOPLE!! These are Carlos & Saniye’s bosses, and they can’t afford to get wild and wacky, or maybe this is as wild and wacky as they get?!? ;)…Having said that…
These people below are obviously NOT bosses of anything! So they can afford to get wild and craz-eh!
and honourable mention goes to these guests! A for effort!
Carlos & Saniye, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to photograph your most special day. It was so much fun to be a part of and so memorable! Thank you!
I love these. I am looking for a wedding photographer and came across your website I sent in my contact information as well! I hope you are available on our wedding day!
